Travel - Day 1

Today we flew from Phoenix into Charlotte.  The flight was uneventful and
smooth, except for an antsy child that sat next to Mom...wait - that's Bailey.  My "good" traveler had ants in her pants today.  And her shirt.  And her hair.  And her hands.  Could not sit still...

We landed on time, finally got our luggage, got past the rental car debacle.  Then we went to Amelie's French Bakery.  Amelie's is one of the top 10 French bakeries in the good ol' US of A.  Amazing place...look at these pastries:

And then........we were hungry and had the most amazing sandwiches - Turkey, Cranberries and Brie on a baguette, and a Roast Beef with Horseradish on a seeded baguette.  They even made Bailey a cheddar cheese melt on baguette, and she ate the entire thing!  Mom and I followed up our sandwiches with a vanilla crème brulee.  Dee-lish!

The restaurant/bakery is a darling little place with funky décor and a lively atmosphere.  We loved it!

Then we drove for a couple of hours to Asheville.  The sun was going down when we got here, so no pictures, but stay tuned tomorrow for the arts fest!  Au Revoir...
